Rush Street always envisioned a hotel for Rivers to create a full-service destination on the North Shore. “Statewide gaming expansion changed our schedule, but never our intentions. “The time is right,” said Greg Carlin, CEO of Rush Street Gaming and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. In the meantime, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh successfully completed several significant property upgrades, among them: adding gourmet burger restaurant, FLIPT opening The Event Center for upsized galas and expos and launching Pittsburgh’s first licensed sportsbook. The development was postponed following the approval of gaming legislation that added category 4 “mini-casinos” and reshaped the Pennsylvania casino landscape. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh received approval for a hotel from the Pittsburgh Planning Commission in 2017. The hotel will attach to the existing casino on the east facade, facing the Carnegie Science Center. The seven-story, four-star property will be called “The Landing Hotel Pittsburgh” and will include 219 guest rooms.
